Fireworks and bonfires in Gloucestershire
2 to 5 November – Whether you’re looking for crackling bonfires in Cheltenham or the Cotswolds, fireworks in the Forest of Dean, guys ablaze in Gloucester or sparklers in Stroud and Tewkesbury, you’ve come to the right place for Guy Fawkes night 2007 celebrations, across Gloucestershire.

With events happening across Cheltenham, the Cotswolds, the Forest of Dean, Gloucester, Stroud and Tewkesbury in November, there has never been a better excuse to bundle the family up in hats and scarves and prepare to oooh and aaah at the spectacular displays planned.
Cheltenham bonfires and fireworks displays
On Friday 2 November 2007, Bishops Cleeve Primary School will be holding a fundraising fireworks display and bonfire on the playing fields. The gates open at 6.30pm with the bonfire being officially lit at 7.15pm. Entry costs £3 for adults and £1 for children.
On Saturday 3 November 2007 Cheltenham Racecourse will be hosting their popular annual Cheltenham Round Table fireworks display, with a funfair, live Severn Sound radio broadcast and live tribute acts on stage. The gates open at 5pm with the fireworks display starting at 7.15pm. Admission costs £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, available on the gate, with all profits going to local charities.
Also on Saturday 3 November 2007 Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway will be offering a special train service between Toddington Station and Cheltenham Racecourse for the firework festivities.
Cotswolds bonfires and fireworks displays
The sky above Fairford Park will be lit up with a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday 3 November 2007, where mulled wine and Cotswold burgers will be warming up the Bonfire Night Extravaganza’s crowds. The gates will open at 6.30pm, with admission costing £4 for adults and £2 for children available on the evening.
Sir William Romney’s School in Tetbury will be holding their annual Bonfire Night Celebration on Saturday 3 November 2007. The gates will open at 6pm, with the best Guy competition being judged at 6.15pm, before the lighting of the bonfire takes place at 6.30pm and the fantastic fireworks display starts at 7pm. Admission costs £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, available on the gate.
Cirencester Round Table will be holding their Fireworks Extravaganza on Saturday 3 November 2007 at Cirencester Junior School playing fields on Victoria Road, with parking at the Beeches car park. The attractions open at 5pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6pm and the fireworks display starts at 7pm – with tickets available on the gate.
The river Thames will provide an ideal setting for Lechlade’s Riverside Fireworks on Monday 5 November 2007, very aptly being held at The Riverside pub. There is free admission for all ages and warming refreshments will be available. Call (01367) 252229 for more information.
Yamworth Village Hall in Chedworth will play home to a fireworks display and Guy Fawkes bonfire on Monday 5 November 2007, from 6.30pm with a barbecue afterwards. Entry is free but charity donations are accepted.
Forest of Dean bonfires and fireworks displays
On Saturday 3 November 2007 Speech House in Coleford will be hosting the Fern annual bonfire and the Forest of Dean Lions Club’s fantastic fireworks display from 5pm. There will be live music from 70s rock The Retros, parking is free, plus burgers and hot dogs will be in plentiful supply until 8.30pm. Tickets are available from Speech House on the evening and cost £4 for adults, while primary school children are free.
The Royal Oak in Whitecroft, near Lydney, will be holding their bonfire bonanza on Sunday 4 November 2007. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm, with a pig roast, bouncy castle, funfair rides for the kids, and fire walking adding to the evening’s attractions. Entry is free, with donations collected for the Dilke Memorial Hospital.
On Monday 5 November 2007 Bathurst Park in Lydney will be hosting a family fireworks display, complete with a funfair. The gates open at 6pm with the display starting at 7.30pm. Gloucester bonfires and fireworks displays
On Friday 2 November 2007 Hucclecote Rugby Club will be holding their annual fireworks display at the club on Churchdown Lane, Gloucester. The gates open at 6.30pm, with a bar and barbecue open for drinks and warming snacks. Entry costs adults £3, children £2 and families £8, available on the gate.
On Saturday 3 November 2007, the Gloucester Round Table will once again be holding their annual fireworks display in the stunning surrounds of Gloucester Docks, sponsored by Gloucester Quays. The gates will open at 6pm with the display starting at 7.30pm. Danta’s Fair will be there, as well as Severn Sound. Tickets cost £5 for adults, £3.50 for children or £15 for a family ticket available in advance from the Docks office and Gloucester Tourist Information, as well as on the gate, with all proceeds from this extremely popular event benefiting local charities. There is disabled access via Southgate Street entrance and Severn Road will be closed from 6pm to 8pm.
Stroud bonfires and fireworks displays
On Friday 2 November 2007, Parliament Primary School will be holding their annual fireworks display, from 6.30pm. Tickets cost £2 adults and £1 for children, available on the gate.
On Saturday 3 November 2007 another fundraising fireworks display will be held by Nailsworth Scout Troop at the King George V playing fields in Nailsworth. The events start at 7.30pm, with refreshments also available, prices on the gate cost £2 for adults and £1 for children.
On Saturday 3 November 2007, Dursley Round Table will be holding their annual fireworks display at the Dursley Recreation Ground on Kingshill Road from 7pm. Severn Sound’s Breakfast presenter Shaun Tilley will be at the event, with a funfair adding to the line-up of entertainment. Entry costs adults £4, children £2 and families £12.
Leonard Stanley Primary School will be holding their annual fireworks display on Monday 5 November 2007 from 6pm. Entrance costs £1.50 for children and £2.50 for adults. With refreshments also available.
Tewkesbury bonfires and fireworks displays
Tewkesbury Park Hotel will be holding a fireworks display on the evening of Sunday 4 November 2007.
