Run by national company UK Running Events, Inflatable 5k offers participants 'the ultimate inflatable adventure', with a total of 32 obstacles to tackle over a 5k distance.

Lifesaving organisation Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which provides vital emergency medical services when the worst incidents happen in Gloucestershire, is encouraging locals to sign up for an 'epic' fundraiser in Cheltenham this October 2024.

The charity is partnering with UK-wide event Inflatable 5k, which is bringing 'the world's biggest' inflatable obstacle course to Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday 19 October 2024.

Anyone aged five and over is eligible to enter to take part in a 2.5k, 5k, 10k or 15k run, bounce, slide and jump over up to 92 giant inflatable obstacles.

Participants are encouraged to make fundraising a part of the experience, too, with a discounted entry fee for those who pledge to raise a minimum £100 for the charity.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity funds and operates three air ambulances from its bases in Staffordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire near the Gloucestershire border, along with a fleet of critical care cars, with its team of pilots and critical care paramedics serving a six-county operating patch.

As the charity receives no funding from central government for its daily air ambulance missions — costing an average of £2,950 each — it relies entirely on donations and fundraising from businesses and the public to maintain its services.

Organised by national company UK Running Events, Inflatable 5k offers participants 'the ultimate inflatable adventure', with three brand new obstacles added for the Cheltenham event and 32 to tackle in total over the 5k distance.

Participants will summit the 'start mountain' to kick off proceedings, before attempting to navigate obstacles like 'holy moly', 'the growler' and 'vortex'; avoid being caught off guard by 'crash bang' and 'the slapper'; and climb, slide and vault their way through 'temple of doom' and 'the boss'.

There are also five 'pumping' music zones to motivate you around the course and a spectator area where your friends and family can cheer you on, with medical assistance and a hydration station provided, too.

Those fundraising for Midlands Air Ambulance charity will be charged a £30 entrance fee plus a booking charge, with minimum sponsorship of £100 required.
