Brand-new bar and restaurant Novo Club has just opened its doors on the site of the former Soho Bar on Rotunda Terrace in Cheltenham's sought-after Montpellier district — and SoGlos stopped by for a visit in its first week of opening.
Inside, a matte midnight blue backdrop provides the perfect canvas for Novo's take on a living wall and ceiling, with glorious bursts of colour from hundreds of silk flowers and plants on display throughout the venue.
Plush gold, teal and dusky pink velvet upholstery adorn the bar and chairs, while quirky wall-fittings include peacocks and flamingos.
And with a Mediterranean-style menu to feast on, diners can tuck into dishes such as feta filo pastries and Novo chilli squid to start; kleftiko and chicken confit for mains; and for dessert — pistachio cheesecake, tiramisu and authentic Italian gelato.
It also offers a grilled sirloin steak for under £25, much to the delight of carnivorous diners!
At the bar, the aperitifs and cocktails are equally as appealing, with mixes such as the signature Novo gin and tonic and a seasonal Aperol spritz; alongside classics including a margarita, negroni and espresso martini.
Novo Club is open Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 10pm; Thursday from 10am to 12am; Friday and Saturday from 10am to 1pm; and Sunday 12pm to 8pm.
