For mermaid enthusiasts across Gloucestershire, this is a dream job! The county’s Mermaid Academy is expanding its team, looking for a poolside assistant.
The role would include sorting tails and fins ready for lessons, helping customers with queries and assisting with lessons on Fridays at Dean Close School in Cheltenham and on Saturdays in Brockworth, Gloucester.
The lessons take place between 3:45pm and 6:30pm during term time.
The successful mermaid assistant needs to be at least 13 years old, and although no experience is necessary, they’d need to enjoy swimming and must love mermaid culture.
Rebecca Turner, manager of The Mermaid Academy said: ‘This is primarily a customer service role, as they’d be the first person our swimmers see as they arrive at the pool.
‘There is the opportunity to work towards recognised industry qualifications, too. Although previous experience is not needed, they need a willingness to learn and to become a valued member of the team.’
