SoGlos in the finals for best regional website in global journalism awards

Press Gazette's prestigious Future of Media Awards 2024 shortlist has been revealed, with SoGlos making the finals for Regional Website of the Year category, against just two other finalists — putting Gloucestershire's leading media brand among the 'best digital journalism products and innovations' across the UK and worldwide.

SoGlos is a finalist in the Press Gazette Future of Media Awards 2024, shortlisted for Website of the Year in the competitive Regional/Local category.

After a rigorous judging phase, involving 33 industry experts, three weeks of scrutiny and over two days of in-person discussions, SoGlos has been shortlisted for Website of the Year in the Regional/Local category at the Press Gazette Future of Media Awards 2024.

Celebrating world-leading innovations in digital journalism, the progressive Future of Media Awards recognise the best in digital journalism from all over the world, carefully considering entries for technical excellence, evidence of audience and commercial success and editorial brilliance.

On a mission to revolutionise regional media with a tech-first approach, the team behind SoGlos — Gloucestershire's leading media brand is proud to have been recognised for its excellence in digital news media, amongst some of the best media brands in the UK and worldwide.

While SoGlos will be representing Gloucestershire in the finals, the two other regional titles in the running for Website of the Year in the Regional/Local category include The BV Magazine in Dorset and KentOnline which covers the county of Kent.

Press Gazette editor-in-chief and chairman of judges, Dominic Ponsford, said the awards are judged by an unrivalled panel of industry experts who have worked tirelessly to ensure the entries were properly scrutinised.

'Over two days of in-person discussions, the judges kicked the tyres of all the entries and debated their merits in order to ensure we arrived at fair shortlists.

'The finalists provide a snapshot of publishers who are lighting the way to a sustainable future for quality journalism in the digital age.'

The SoGlos team now has a tense wait until Thursday 12 September 2024, when this year's winners are revealed at the awards ceremony in London.
