International airline training academy Skyborne has appointed a new group head of safety, with a view to 'solidifying' its commitment to the safety of its pilots.
The academy, which operates over three bases — at Gloucestershire Airport, in Bournemouth and in Florida in the USA — welcomes experienced aviation safety lead Jack Keegan, to ensure the 'the highest standards' of safety are maintained across its locations.
After nearly two decades working in aviation safety including roles at Bristol, Birmingham and Gloucestershire airports, Jack will be responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of an effective Safety Management System (SMS) across Skyborne’s global operations in his new role.
Lee Woodward, CEO of Skyborne, said of his appointment: 'Jack’s extensive experience and his unwavering commitment to operational excellence, make him a valuable asset to the Skyborne team.
'His expertise will be instrumental in solidifying our commitment to a safe and supportive learning environment.'
Established by industry experts, Skyborne describes itself as a 'premier' training academy for pilots and cabin crew, boasting close relationships with some of the world's biggest airlines, including British Airways.
The academy uses a combination of 'tried and tested' methods and the latest technology to assess the 'competence, suitability, aptitude and resilience' of its trainees; and prides itself on recruiting only 'the very best' candidates to provide better pilots and cabin crew for airlines.
Jack said: 'Skyborne’s dedication to shaping the future of aviation greatly resonates with me and I look forward to contributing to the academy’s continued success.
'As a respected leader in pilot training, I’m excited to work alongside Skyborne’s passionate team to maintain and enhance a world-class safety culture across its global operations.'
