Featuring inspiring success stories and expert insight from across Gloucestershire's climate and business sectors, details of the county's annual net zero conference have been revealed this October 2024.
Led by the county's go-to business support network, The Growth Hub Gloucestershire, the Net Zero Conference is back for 2024 with a remit to inspire and empower local businesses across all sectors to strive towards becoming more sustainable.
This year's conference will feature specialist talks about a range of key topics concerning net zero and sustainability for businesses, from carbon auditing and innovation in carbon capture, to net zero product development, social values and green skills.
Complimentary tickets are available to book now for the event, which is taking place at the University of Gloucestershire Business School at Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester on Wednesday 11 December 2024, from 9am till 4pm.
The event brings together a range of key local voices on sustainability in business, including conference chair and vice chair of Gloucestershire's Economic Growth Board, Ruth Dooley, and keynote speaker, Gloucestershire County Council cabinet member for environment, economy and planning, David Gray.
Growth Hub guide Andrew McKenzie will be sharing information about carbon auditing, while attendees will also hear from key sustainability experts, including Isobel Filipova on how product and LCA auditing can help evolve a net zero strategy; Chloe Fiddy of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment on how businesses are embedding green skills into their workforces; and Sandy Ruthven MBE from Severn Wye Energy Agency on new carbon capture technology.
And some of the county's leading businesses will present case studies about actions and initiatives they have carried out to accelerate their net zero journeys.
Gloucester-based construction firm The P & M Group will share how it has set out its net zero strategy; food producer The Wild Hare Group will speak about how it is decarbonising its supply chain in the farming community; and The Cotswold Bed Company will be presenting on how to become a B Corp and the value it brings.
There will also be networking opportunities with exhibitors in the business school's atrium, including South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, Made in Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire Nature + Climate Fund — with lunch and refreshments available throughout the day, too.
