Gloucester Independent Film Festival is back this April 2025, following the sell-out success of its inaugural event in October 2024.
With a packed programme spanning feature films, shorts, documentaries, music videos and animation, the event takes over Gloucester Guildhall on Saturday 12 April 2025.
Founded by local filmmakers Oscar Wenman-Hyde and Joshy Lee, this year's 'new and improved' event promises everything from red carpet premieres to networking opportunities for film professionals and those looking to get their start in the industry.
There are screenings of all the films nominated for this year's awards from 10am, culminating in a glitzy awards ceremony in the evening.
Highlights include highly anticipated short thriller Twain, directed by Pip and executive produced by Daisy Edgar-Jones, who also worked on Normal People and Twisters; and Rodent by Joe Fereday, which is backed by the world's leading natural history film producer, Silverback Films.
And one of this year's official selections is a documentary film about Gloucester's independent Sherborne Cinema to mark its 10th anniversary in 2025.
Joshy said: 'After selling out twice in October 2024, the second season of Gloucester Independent Film Festival is all about further building a hub for filmmakers and film fans to connect, network and celebrate one another. Independent filmmaking is hard, especially in this current climate, so it’s more important than ever to support one another and grow together.'
Oscar added: 'GIFF not only champions the future of filmmaking but also the future of Gloucestershire's existing artistic community.'
Festival passes cost £25 each and are available to book via the Gloucester Guildhall website.
