Fierce competition between top talent awaits at the Cornbury House Horse Trials, as it returns from Wednesday 11 September to Sunday 15 September 2024.
The five-day event is one of the most exciting international equestrian contests in the UK. Having been re-established in 2020 by Cornbury House Horse Trials founder and president, David Howden, the event promises to showcase the finest young horses and riders in the country as they compete in dressage, cross-country and showjumping.
David said: 'I’ve made no secret of the fact I am passionate about supporting the best British-based talent, and we are utterly committed to helping the stars of our sport — present and future — to reach their goals. We are delighted to be once again hosting the prestigious British Eventing Young Horse Championships.
'I can promise our visitors that not only will they be immersed in the very best of British Eventing — all the British Olympic riders and many of the international riders will be there — but also a fabulous day out in a beautiful Cotswold setting.'
One of those Olympians is last year's winner of the Leading Rider prize at Cornbury 2023, Laura Collett. She said: 'Cornbury has raised the bar each year as far as
what is on offer for spectators, riders and owners. It’s a fantastic event that
provides spectacular hospitality for owners and spectators alongside hosting a
brilliant competition.'
High-stakes equestrian action takes centre stage, but with the introduction of Field Food, a showcase of locally-produced artisan food and drink, there's plenty to explore away from the dressage and cross-country arenas.
The event also continues its partnership with The Bull in Charlbury, which is serving food at the VIP hospitality marquee across the week — featuring Cornbury's own Longhorn Beef.
A range of offerings from local farms can be browsed by visitors across the five days, with a selection of local ales to sample from the on-site bar, the Wychwood Inn.
Plus, on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2024, there's the opportunity for families to engage in Wildwood Crafts throughout the afternoon, with children under 12 able to participate for free.
Ticket prices range from £5 per person for the Wednesday dressage contests, up to £35 per person for the full five-day ticket. Children under the age of 12-years-old enter for free.
Parking is also free with a valid ticket purchase.
