After becoming the first UK intelligence agency to join Twitter back in 2016, the Government listening post has now launched its Instagram account, promising to showcase the ‘secret world’ of GCHQ.
The account, which has the handle @GCHQ, will allow followers to get an insight into the life of intelligence officers, their hobbies and lifestyle, as they work alongside MI5 and MI6 to manage cyber security threats, prevent terrorist attacks and support the UK’s armed forces.
A GCHQ spokesperson said: ‘People generally know we’re working 24/7 to help keep the country safe, but they don’t get the chance to see behind the scenes. Hopefully this will help dispel some myths and show who we are as individuals.’
