Status Quo at Westonbirt Arboretum

22 June – Veteran rockers Status Quo are the latest band to announce they will be playing a one-off concert at Westonbirt Arboretum in the summer 2008. Tickets have now, unfortunately, sold-out.

One of Britain’s longest serving and most celebrated bands, Status Quo, has just announced that they will be playing a one-off summer concert at Westonbirt Arboretum in June 2008. Status Quo, along with classical star Katherine Jenkins and Jools Holland, will be playing at the National Arboretum this summer as part of the Forestry Commission’s annual Forest Tours.

It will be 40 years in January since Status Quo first made the UK charts with ‘Pictures of Matchstick Men’ and subsequently they have accumulated more than 110 million record sales – spending more than seven and a half years on the singles charts, notching up 63 British hit singles and making 106 appearances on BBC TV’s Top of the Pops.

This autumn saw the release of the band’s latest album In Search of the Fourth Chord, and fans can expect to hear a few of Status Quo’s latest tracks played at the Westonbirt concert, as well as all the old favourites.

Commenting on playing the Forestry Commissions’ Forest Tours 2008, Status Quo’s lead singer Francis Rossi said: ‘We are really looking forward to playing in the forest. Fans can rest assured they’ll be rocking all over the woods!’

Tickets for this event have now, unfortunately, sold-out. You can still purchase tickets for Jools Holland and The Zutons at Westonbirt Arboretum this summer however.
