1 June – Wychwood Music Festival 2008 will be welcomes to Cheltenham Racecourse's green pastures this summer, with a line-up including Duffy, The Proclaimers, The Divine Comedy and many more.

In May and June 2008, the Wychwood Music Festival will once again be invading the usually serene Cheltenham Racecourse for a fourth year in a row.

Offering revellers three days of terrific music, family-friendly entertainment and hopefully a bit of sunshine in glorious Gloucestershire, this is a festival not to be missed.

The eclectic line-up for 2008 includes more than 80 live acts, as well over 100 workshops for all ages to take part in.

On Friday 30 May 2008, expect to hear from the likes of The Proclaimers, Robyn Hitchcock and The Psychedelic Trams, Dreadzone, John Hegley, The Epstein, Misty’s Big Adventure and Kasai Masai.

On Saturday 31 May 2008, revellers will be seeing The Divine Comedy, Duffy, Orchestra Baobab, The Blockheads, Palladium, Spiers and Boden, Kissmet, Piney Gir, and Desperately Not Yoko.

On Sunday 1 June 2008, The Imagined Village featuring Billy Bragg, Eliza and Martin Carthy, Kate Rusby, 3 Daft Monkeys, The Wonder Stuff’s Miles Hunt and Erica Nockells.

As well as live music, there is also a line-up of comedy from stand-ups including Andy Smart, Steve Steen, Stephen Frost, Jeff Green, Sean Lock, Dave Johns, Mundo Jazz, Terry Saunders, Barry Dodds, Ben Schofield and
Damion Larkin.

Performance poetry will come from New Internationalist and Hammer & Tongue, and there will also be storytelling from around the world, as well as the Groovy Movie Picturehouse for film lovers.

Workshops will span everything from Persian dancing, capoeira, breakdancing, harmony singing, drum circles, trapeze skills, DJing, yoga and tai chi for the whole family. With children’s workshops including music for toddlers, yoga for kids, Bhangra tots, storytellers and crafts from the Road Dahl Museum.

Tickets for Wychwood Music Festival 2008 cost £85 for concessions or £100 for adults both including three nights camping at Cheltenham Racecourse. Up to two children’s tickets are free when booked in conjunction with any full priced adult’s ticket. See ticketmaster.co.uk for more information.
