Gloucester Antiques and Collectables Fair

1 June – Bargain-hunters and serious collectors alike will be heading to the very first Gloucester Antiques and Collectables Fair being held at Gloucester Docks this summer, with none other than the BBC’s Bargain Hunt also in attendance.

From collectable stamps to covetable furniture, find it at Gloucester Antiques and Collectables Fair this summer.

Prepare to search for treasures and dig out your cheque book for the two day Gloucester Antiques and Collectables Fair, coming to the city for the first time this summer.

Organised by Gloucester Antiques Centre in partnership with Gloucester City Council, the two-day event will be held at Gloucester Docks on Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June 2008 and is expected to draw visitors from far and wide.

With more than 75 indoor and outdoor stalls selling a range of antiques and collectables over the weekend, whether you’re hoping to find furniture, jewellery, china, artwork or clocks, or perhaps you are hunting for that illusive addition to your collection of model trains, stamps and coins – all will be available in abundance.

Taking place in and around the North Warehouse, adjacent to the Gloucester Antiques Centre, visitors to Gloucester Docks on either day will also find that the BBC will be filming two episodes of Bargain Hunt at the Gloucester Antiques and Collectables Fair.

The docks will be filled with a variety of boats to add to the day out, and if you want to try your hand at creating your very own art work, Roses and Castles will also be holding workshops over the weekend for visitors to try canal art painting.

Paul James, Leader of Gloucester City Council, said: ‘We are proud to bring the Antiques and Collectables Fairs to Gloucester. Visitors to the docks can expect a great day out with a variety of attractions alongside the fair.’
