The rock 'n' roll musical Buddy will have crowds dancing in the aisles.

Proclaimed as the ‘the world’s most successful rock ‘n’ roll musical’ Buddy the Musical is a hit show that has wowed more than 20 million fans from New York to New Zealand, as well as having served more than 16-years in London’s West End. From 27 May to 9 June the national tour hits Gloucestershire and audiences at the Everyman Theatre can arrive with high hopes.

In two short hours, the all singing, all dancing cast of Buddy re-tell the biographical story of 1950s music legend Buddy Holly’s life – from the height of his career where he recorded more than 30 all time hits to the fateful flight which cut the 22-year-old’s legacy short. Despite the tragic ending of the musical genius’ story, expect an upbeat and energetic experience, as well as impressive renditions including ‘That’ll Be the Day’, ‘Peggy Sue’, ‘True Love Ways’, ‘Oh Boy’ and ‘Heartbeat’.

The rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza also comes complete with classic hits from the Big Bopper’s and Ritchie Valens, so be warned toe-tapping, hand-clapping and even a bit of bopping in aisles may prove irresistible. Buddy the Musical is a classic show brimming with golden oldies that is a treat for music fans of all ages.
